Day One
Let me start with a confession.
I LOVE to perform. I love the process, I love the interaction, and of course I love the fees.
But I HATE marketing.
I’d rather be performing.
Maybe you love marketing and are a superstar at it.
But for the rest of us mere mortals, marketing is simply a means to an end.
We market so we can perform.
So, over the course of this challenge I want to show you the easiest ways to get extra gigs.
Nothing fancy.
Just step-by-step plans so you can book gigs and focus on your talent and performance instead of focusing on marketing.
Here is our plan:
Over the next five days I’ll give you the tools to book up to 50 more gigs in 2023.
Put simply, you’ll learn how to book up to five extra gigs each month so that at this time next year you’ll look back and realize you’ve done 50 extra gigs in 2023.
Instead of one big push now, you’ll learn a PROCESS so that you’ll have gigs coming in each month.
This challenge isn’t about general marketing topics like web sites, business cards, or graphics.
We’re going to focus specifically on booking 5 extra gigs each month.
Here’s the plan for the five days.
- Today I’m going to tell you about the step-by-step plan.
- Day two will show you where to find the gigs you’ll book.
- Day three will help you develop your detailed plan for each month.
- Day four will show you exactly how to book the gigs.
- Day five will walk you through what to do right now so you can see the process in action and book some gigs.
Let’s get started.
Our step-by-step plan is to identify groups that are eager to book family show professionals.
Each month of the year there’ll be a category to focus on such as libraries, churches, schools, day cares, and others.
I’ll show you how and when to contact the various groups so that they book you.
At the start of each month, you’ll contact the groups eager to book you and book the gigs.
These gigs will be new gigs that you can add to the gigs you’ve already booked.
There are three steps to our plan.
Step one is to identify a target group each month that’s eager to book you.
Step two is to figure out exactly how to contact the group and book the gig.
Step three is to identify a different group each month of the year so the gigs keep coming in at a steady pace so you can rely on your income and have fun earning it.
That’s our step-by-step plan to get you to where you want to be.
But, first let’s figure out where you want to end up.
We can’t reach your goals if we don’t know what your goals are.
Today I want you to picture what a perfect week of performing would look like.
How many gigs would you want to do?
Do you want to do gigs only on the weekend, only during the week, or a combination of both?
How far will you travel to perform?
What are the gigs you absolutely LOVE to do?
What gigs do you hate to do?
All of these things are important because you need to know where you’d like to end up before we can figure out how to get there.
