Download Today's PDFWelcome to the First Day of Our Five-Day Challenge
I’m excited to get started.
Each day there will be a video much like this one that will lay out exactly what we are doing that day.
Most days there will also be a PDF worksheet to go along with the work that day.
Every day will have some specific tasks for you to complete.
Don’t worry, this is not homework that I am going to grade. In fact, no one will see any of this except for you.
Each task will take about fifteen minutes to complete.
We’re not talking about spending the entire day.
Â
Ok, now that you know what we are going to do let’s talk about the challenge.
This challenge is based on the idea that you are going to pick the low hanging fruit.
I’m going to help you identify the easiest gigs to book and help you book them.
Â
Today's Task
Today’s task is fairly straightforward and easy.
Today simply gather all the names of Halloween gigs that you have done in the past.
If you use Quickbooks, look through old invoices.
If you use paper booking sheets, find the ones you’ve filed away from previous years.
You don’t need to do anything with them yet.
Simply gather them in a place you can easily access them.
If it is computer records, put them on your desktop.
If you use physical booking sheets gather them all on a table.
Take about fifteen minutes to find all the previous gigs you can.
Don’t try to sort them or prioritize them yet.
This is just an information gathering mission.
Some of you be just starting out.
If you are brand new to performing this is going to be fun.
You’ll quickly find that some of the best gigs are in October.
Many performers find October is their busiest month of the year.
Â
If You Are New to Performing
If you have not done any Halloween gigs your task is to find the names of churches and schools near you.
Figure how far you are willing to travel then use Google maps to find all the churches and schools in that radius.
Right now, just get the names. We’ll worry about prioritizing them and getting contact information later.
Â
Ok, for everyone. That’s it. That’s what you need to do today. Simply gather information.
Remember, we will have a Zoom call later today in case you have any questions.
I am so glad you are a part of this five-day challenge.
I’ll have another video for you tomorrow.
