Also, I’m going to give you a method you can start using today to ensure that your fees are right where they need to be.

Let’s jump into this.

I want to show you how you can make more money and serve your market better by charging a fair price for your family show performance.

If you’re a magician, face painter, clown, ventriloquist, balloon twister, or any other type of family show professional you’ll learn how to figure out the amount to charge so that you’re maximizing your income and at the same time serving your market in a way that’s fair and consistent.

I work with thousands of performers and we’ve had hundreds of students in Family Show Pro All-Stars.

These methods work whether you’re in a big city with lots of competition or you’re the only performer in your area.

These techniques have been used by performers all of the US and Canada, the UK, Australia, and around the world.

We have students on every continent except Antarctica.

In our last video I shared how one student was able to increase her fees so that she’s making more money while performing fewer gigs.

It saved her from having to go back to a corporate job she hated.

Let me tell you about another student.

He was wanting to break into a high-end market.

He had a great act and was ready.

But even though people were interested and liked his promotional material, not many people seemed to want to book him.

After some conversations and a little digging, we found out he was LOSING clients because his prices were too low.

His clients didn’t want to risk their reputation by booking a “cut-rate” performer for their events.

He raised his prices to the expected rate and the bookings started coming in.

He realized that for many clients, charging too little will hurt you more than charging too much.

Over the last few days most of the questions I have been getting are about the course “What to Charge”:

What’s does it cover and how can I get it?

The course is a series of bite sized videos of 1 to 3 minutes long so you’re not overwhelmed or bored.

These are quick, direct, action-oriented lessons that make the most of your time.

There are 11 lessons that cover topics such as:

  • Finding the Market Rate

  • How to Determine If You’re Charging Too Little

  • Breaking into New Markets

  • And Lots, Lots More

So many people have told me this is exactly the kind of thing that they’ve been looking for.

You can make more money, have more fun, and serve your market even better.

I’ll show you how to be fair to everyone.

Fair to your clients.

Fair to other performers.

And maybe most important of all, fair to yourself.

You’ll know exactly how to tell if you’re charging the right amount.

But I’ll tell you more about that in a couple of days.

Be looking for that because I’m going to make an offer not just for the course on “What to Charge” but also on full membership to family show pro all-stars.

I’m going to do something I’ve never done before and it’ll only be offered for five days.

So be on the lookout for that.

But at the start of this video I promised to give you a method to tell if you’re charging enough.

What I want you to do is start tracking all of your calls.

Keep track of how many you book and how many people say they can’t afford your rates.

If everyone says you’re charging too much then you may need to lower your fee.

But that seldom happens.

What usually happens is that everyone thinks your prices are great.

If EVERYONE jumps at your price that means you’re charging too little.

You want most people to say “Yes” and book you.

But if EVERYONE says “Yes” without even thinking about it, you’re probably charging too little.

You want most people to say “Yes” but you do want a few people to say your rates are high.

That way you know that you’re charging the right amount.

Keep track.

Out of every 5 calls you get, at least one should say your rates are too high.

Usually 20-30% of people are looking for cheap entertainers and don’t care about your performance.

You’ve done those kind of gigs and know they are not much fun for you or the audience.

If about 20% of the people are saying your rates are more than they want to pay, that means you’re charging about the right amount and overall, you’re making more money.

Plus, the gigs that you take will be the fun ones where everyone is excited to have you there.

In case you missed it before, I’ve prepared a worksheet that shows you exactly how to figure out what to charge in your market.
